STAFF

Daniela Zanni
Owner / Manager

I would first like to welcome you to our site and thank you for your interest in Ruff House. Although I have always loved animals, I really never suspected that I would end up with a business involving dogs. After growing up in North Carolina and earning my Bachelor's degree at Lenoir-Rhyne College, I moved to Atlanta in 1996 to be closer to my family. After a career as a Physician Recruiter, I was faced with the decision of either relocating back to NC with my company or finding alternate employment. Also during this time, I was planning a two week vacation and attempting to locate a boarding kennel for my two dogs. Although I finally settled on a place, I was not completely satisfied with the environment for such a lengthy stay. Both of these circumstances are what started the ball rolling.

I decided that life is short, and if provided the opportunity, each person should follow his or her passion and dream. Nothing seemed more appealing than being with dogs all day! I based the premise of my business on what I would want for my dogs while in a boarding environment. I feel it important that a facility have on-site 24 hour supervision, a small number of staff that your dog can become familiar with, conditions that allow for frequent potty breaks and playtimes, and when appropriate opportunities to socialize with other dogs and people.

Our goal is to make your dog's stay with us as enjoyable as your vacation is for you. It should be like camp for your pet, and we want all of our "campers" to be excited about coming to see us and their playmates.

Clare Smith
Kennel Staff

Clare joined the Ruff House staff in September, 2009. Having previously worked in an administrative office environment, Clare chose to make a complete career change to do something that she felt compassionate about. That decision led her to the animal care field. It has been a life long dream of Clare’s to work with animals daily, and she is thrilled to be able to do so!

Clare lives in Canton with her three rescue Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes, Spencer, Sampson, and Delilah; her two cats Benjamin and Abigail; and two Beta fish, appropriately named Blue and Red.

Megan Barajas
Kennel Staff

Megan is a full time student at Kennesaw State University and a seasoned animal caretaker, working in both veterinary hospitals and on horse farms prior to becoming a part of the Ruff House kennel staff in August, 2009. Although small in stature, Megan does a fantastic job handling and caring for all of the animals, using her extensive knowledge and experience in caring for both dogs and horses.

Megan lives in Roswell with her boyfriend Tate, and their three dogs: Riley, an Australian Cattle Dog; Diamond, a Rat Terrier; and Beddy, a pit bull.

Hannah Coyle
Kennel Staff

Hannah has been at Ruff House since the summer of 2006. She is a student at Milton High School, and typically can be seen working on weekends, holidays, and during summer break.

Hannah has a true love for all animals, and comes to us with experience handling both dogs and horses. She is one of the most mature and responsible teenagers around, and has a extremely sweet and bubbly personality. Hannah lives in Alpharetta with her family, and their dog Josie.

Corally McElveen
Trainer

Corally teaches group agility classes as well as agility and obedience private lessons at Ruff House. A native of Atlanta, she has been involved in animal training (dogs and horses) for over 30 years.

Having had animals all of her life, Corally has successfully shown dogs in competition obedience (AKC) and agility (AKC, USDAA, and NADAC). Corally is also currently involved in stock dog trialing in both ASCA and USBCHA, working both sheep and ducks. In addition to dog training she has also done pet sitting as well.
